Has this ever happened to you: someone you know is diagnosed with a terminal illness, Family and friends stop coming because they don’t know what to say or do. Now at the most crucial time in a patient’s life when friends are needed, they disappear. The patients and family need someone to talk to now more than ever. That’s why volunteers are so needed in hospice.

Come join our volunteers. We are beginning new programs that feature Dog Therapy, music, and massage. We also need people who can cut hair, do nails and any number of other helpful activities or just be a Friendly Visitor. We also need volunteers who can help out in the office with various activities, or do crafts such as make lap-robes or afghans and many other items for each holiday. If you are interested please call our Volunteer Manager at 602-216-2273.

Our next classes will be:
September 22 and 29
October 20 and 27

TB Testing is provided free during the class and is required by Medicare. Each class consists of two (2) Saturdays and some homework and must be completed before you can be certified to volunteer.

If you are interested in volunteering please, download an application and 2 reference forms. You can also download the rules and regulations for getting your dog registered to volunteer. For more info on getting your dog registered please go to www.therapydogs.com. If your dog is already registered with another organization please call me so we can discuss this. More than likely you will be approved. Come and sign up today, I look forward to working with you, Joyce Berish.
